(Is that like a 7-11?). Reading through posts on the Consumerist weblog, trying to decide if I should subscribe to its RSS feed, I came across this article about a fellow IBD sufferer who was denied access to a bathroom. As a result, she pooped her pants.

Granted, it is an “employee only” bathroom, but hey, what is the world coming to when someone poops their pants because someone else is worried about… er… what? What, exactly happens if you break the rules and let a customer into the bathroom? You get fired? They steal toilet paper? Fine.

I would gladly get fired for breaking the rules if it were in the name of humanity, decency, or any of those other words that end in a ‘y’ and connote positivity.

Here’s hoping the next clerk is a nice one.

I crapped my pants”) where they are making fun of adult diapers? Well, that was my first thought when I woke up this morning. Dreaming about going to the bathroom, awoke and, “Oops, I crapped my pants!”  I mean, you really just have to laugh.  I am beyond the crying stage! After a WONDERFUL remission this summer, I am flaring, or having some kind of problem. I had blood on New Year’s Day (Happy New Year!!!), was sick as a dog the following week. I feel fine now except for the sh!tting myself at night. Okay, so it’s not to the point of requiring Depends or what have you, but, let’s put it this way, I’m doing a lot of laundry…

My doc wants me to come in for a pouchoscopy early  next week. Hopefully they can do it on MLK Day, so I won’t have to miss work.  Getting up 5x a night is really starting to get to me though. I am a girl who needs my sleep. I am also a girl who is supposed to go to Portland next week to visit her fiance who just moved out there to look for apartments.  He’s so loving and concerned and understanding that he truly would just be concerned about my  health if I sh!t myself in bed, or at any other inopportune time, but…I’d just really rather not!

I’ve had so many scopes that at this point they are old hat. The good thing about having a J-pouch is that I don’t have to drink any liquid laxative. I just drink clear liquids the day before and nothing after midnight. Plus, you at least get to be drugged up, so I have that to look forward to during the ass-reaming. ;) Annnyway, I just hope nothing is *horribly* wrong. ie: No more surgeries required. I will probably get more Rx’s (hopefully won’t have to resort to the dreaded Prednisone). So…I’ll keep ya’ll posted. In the meantime, remember the importance of humor in these situations. Sometimes it’s all you’ve got.
