Hmmm. I also tried pretty much every alternative therapy I knew of prior to surgery, including radical healthy eating, and whatever diet was popular for IBD at the time. Like Mark, nothing helped, but perhaps now that I'm mostly in remission, something like this could see some results. However, I have SO enjoyed being able to eat basically whatever I want again (finally!), that I'm almost hesitant to get back on this health kick. Being able to eat a variety of meats (not just poultry), fresh veggies (even corn!), and not fear a blockage from said foods, or literally feel them moving through my guts is too tempting a thing to readily sacrifice. I mostly eat well now, little on the "junk" or "fast food", but I am eating way too much sugar. I got on a mad sugar jones after my birthday (cakes, cupcakes, etc). I rarely eat carbs like bread and pasta b/c they just don't do much for me, quite honestly. I do eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies (will work for strawberries). I think most of us know what things are "good" and "bad" foods. I know I am baking too much and need to lose about 10 pounds, but when I look back to the days before the Crohn's diagnosis and remember myself as that little, anorexic-looking thing, I'm glad for the extra padding and the ability to eat these things without fear. However...I'm now wondering if I should be proactive while I can be. I've never really had that luxury, but I'll tell you, I'm going to have to have some support. I feel "okay" now, some days I feel pretty good and those are the days when I work out more, get out in the sunshine, and have a productive day. I've felt kinda "crappy" lately, and my stomach has had that knotted feeling, so this diet is looking a little more appealing in my paranoid desperation. Anyone else game to try this?

Hey, I am a big believer in trying anything to get UC under control without have to go the surgery route. I know I tried so many different things inlcuding the SCD diet. I had a hard time on the diet because I was so sick and I lost so much weight so quickly on that diet that my health was the worst during that time period. But I know for more mild cases it supposedly has helped people. I posted a great video from Health Talk on Alternative medicines for UC/CD that I recommend to anyone interested in alternatives:
