Hi Mariah, Good luck with speedy healing - remember to keep you protien intake this week high to help your tissue heal, and get in good cardio if you can (suppose to speed recovery). Also, keep your spirits high, the attitude is so important to healing well, so either come visit us here - or visit www.jpouch.org to post there and get support! This is such an exiting time for you b/c it means you have a great chance of leading a healthy life and keeping up easily with those 2 little ones! Keep us posted, and let us know how the recovery goes.

Dear Mark,
Thank you so much for sharing your pictures and documenting your experience.
I feel hopeful about my future when I read your statements. I'm booked for a
total proctocolectomy next week. I've struggled with uc for 22 years but now it's
unbearable. I have two small children to take care of and I can't do it with uc.
Wish me luck-

Thanks so much for the site and sharing your experience as well as those of others; I check in everyday to see how everyone is doing. It really gives great support in a challenging time dealing with a terrible disease and major surgeries. Wonderful to hear you are doing well and the scars are minimal....looking really good. I did not have access to larascopic surgery, so my scars will be a little more pronounced. I'm waiting for step 2 of 3 and getting ready mentally.I think I would llike to share my experience eventually if it can help anyone.
All the best to you and Megan and be careful not to get too stressed; that is something I really learnt with UC!! Bye for now, Marianne
