Lighten Up in the Chaos

Mark and I have been so busy lately that we haven’t been able to focus tons of the blog lately. We plan to be more settled by the first of the year and be back to our normal blogging selves.
Do you ever feel like your in a storm that will not stop? The last few years of our life have been one thing after the next, and then the last year has been INSANE. This morning I woke up feeling the pressure of a HUGE deadline I am trying to make (my dissertation), and I recapped for a few moments the stages of our last 15 months, I need to recap them so that I can lighten up and stay focused on my goal without fear of not finishing my deadline in time. By this recap I hope to remember how truly remarkable and resilient we humans really are:
July 2007 – Mark Step 1 Surgery
August 2007 – He recovers, I study for my comprhensive exams
September 2007- I take my written comps.
October 2007 – I defend my written comps 4 days before Mark’s 2nd Surgery.
November 2007- I start looking for jobs around the nation, pending my degree completion.
Dec-Feb 2007-8: Interviewing for jobs, and we relax some into Mark new health
Feb 2008: we decide for me to take a job 2,000 miles away from where we are living now.
April 2008- Propose my dissertation
Sept 2008- Put house on market to sell in the worst housing/economic market EVER!
Nov 2008 – Defend my dissertation
Dec 2008 – Move to new state and start new job!
Sometimes, we just need need to lighten up in the chaos and learn to be curious about our path and relax in the chaos as much as possible

Just an update, but as hard as it is to believe, after a little negotation we have just signed the offer to sell house. Now we wait a few more day sto make sure escrow closes and we no longer have a home, which means our move to Georgia in Dec is really happening. The hard part is that we have to be out two weeks before Megan’s dissertation is due – it’s going to be a crazy few months coming up.
