Thanks for sharing your story. They thought I had crohns disease. I am a 22 year old student and full time worker. I went to urgent care around thanksgiving for some prednisone and ended up in the hospital for six weeks and having an emergency surgery leaving me with an ileostomy. My mom and husband made the decision because I was too out of it and sick (it was life or death). Now I am home and adjusting. My doctor couldn't build the pouch inside my body because it wasn't safe and I was too sick. So, I have to have this in a 3 step surgery. When I went in last time he said maybe he could do the pouch and the pull down in my second surgery in a few months so I am hoping for that. In the meantime, I am really struggling with this. It was a total surprise. It was never mentioned as an option ever but just done to me as an emergency measure. I hope I can handle it so far its been hard. Your brave!
